Still; Jane couldn't take him in Mike''s body, neither could Fogg. Penny was also pretty useless against Mike, even hand to hand. So I'd still give Eliot a little badass cred for it.

After the episode, and the threesome, it feels more and more like they are finishing off the battle in fillory... but the pace just feels off. And what I meant about Alice becoming the trope, is that it becomes a lot like Fridging IF they do it this early, because her only relationship is seemingly with Q on the show. Like to non-book readers it will feel like fridging and undoubtedly be listed as such on the tv tropes page. Like we know better, but others do not.

SO do you guys think they are really doing Plover as the Beast? or finale reveal of it being Martin?

I have faith in it being Martin, because they seem SO certain it's Plover, which is odd for something that hasn't been confirmed yet. I feel like they're too sure too early for that not to be a total red herring and a setup for shock.

That could also be a potential way for her to become demi-god Julia... hmm

ok i was gonna go to bed but then i remembered i was going to post here, and i just wanted to say: i'm still gonna hold out with my original prediction, which is that we get to the end of the first season and everything goes south and someone turns the clock back and we start over. maybe not clear at the beginning, but enough that we get a major do-over. supporting details: hale says that something bad happens to eliot, which would be a pretty major deviation from the books (which is fine, they've done a lot of that and it's been ok, but just for argument's sake bear with me.) we've been promised that we'll see josh hoberman and he's nowhere in sight. what if we go back and josh gets into brakebills instead of kady? or todd? ok that's it. it's 7 am and i need sleep.

That is such an interesting theory and I very much love the idea of it !

Also, in the books, doesn't Asmo turn Brakebills down? Or is that someone else from FTB? So maybe it's not that Josh gets in over her, it's that she says no. Which would also be a great way of explaining why Josh feels like he doesn't belong. Basically I AGREE yes.

Maybe I've got my memory all mixed up, wouldn't be the first time lol. Andi, I love that theory so much though. Like maybe they end up in a reality where they do all die and so they do a clock backturn! To before everything become somewhat hopeless. Also we know something bad happens to Eliot from Hale... do we know what episode? Because that could be the difference between him happening to get really hurt in the Fillory portion, which is fine if they heal him up eventually, or if they write in a two-episode pain arc that wasn't there... Hmm..

Starting to think Julia will sacrifice herself instead of Alice and OLU will step in. Thus a new less graphic way of her becoming a demi god? MAYBE. IDK
